Good Friday

Finally! Spring has sprung! This past week I saw a robin, and today was beautiful out. The Red River is in flood, again. This year ice has been a major headache, causing ice-jams and making officials nervous about opening the flood-way. However, river levels were rising to the 6 m mark so the decision was made to open the flood-way gates part way, and watch for ice-jams in the city. Today, as we were returning home from being out, we noticed one of the Amphibex Icebreakers was working on an ice-jam by the south perimeter bridge. We didn't stop, so no pictures, sorry.
Len did get some pictures of a deer in Bird's Hill Park. Check his blog out and maybe he will post the picture there.

To see pictures of the Amphibex at work Google Amphibex on Red River, Winnipeg. It is an amazing machine.
